Must admit had slight reservations as Les Cotils is a Religious Retreat, however the only obvious sign of this is the magnificent cross in the grounds, otherwise you wouldn't know. All the staff are excellent, helpful and attentive, without being over bearing. Food is first class, dinner option is superb value with a set menu and daily resident's specials. Bar prices reasonable. Set in well kept grounds with a super view over the bay and adjacent islands. Room was a little on the small side, but had a clean, fresh feel. Highly recommended.

This hotel has a fascinating history, as a former nunnery and before that a grand private residence. It has commanding views over the Belle Grève Bay and the islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark in the distance. I stayed two, non-consecutive, nights and the rooms were small but immaculate and had everything you would expect and more. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and breakfast was excellent (I had smoked salmon one day and kippers the other). The hotel is a pleasant stroll just five minutes from the centre of St Peter’s Port. I’ll definitely visit again thank you.

This hotel is in a lovely location. It is advertised as a christian centre but there is no religious emphasis if not wanted. The positives first. a} The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. We don't normally eat in house when we take breaks but we did here and we were not disappointed. b) Staff were generally very friendly, helpful and efficient. c) Location was wonderful in lovely gardens...and how many hotels have a former German gun tower and bunker in their grounds..d) views were spectacular. e) value for money was excellent.....but the negative was that the top floor room was just to basic and colourless. ....the furniture looked as though is was a very inexpensive flat-pack. ... nowadays one available electric socket in a room is just not acceptable. If you have a couple in a room they will have several items to charge each night, so you need to upgrade these facilities...But we still really enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely hotel, very light and airy with beautiful views over St Peter Port.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and it's easy to walk down to the port where there are lots of shops and lovely restaurants. We didn't end up eating at the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that, but the breakfast was nice with lots of choice.
The only reason I gave 4 stars is because our first night was in a room that was not very nice. I think it was the only one left at the time of booking and it was small, dingy, hot, the bed was really lumpy with springs, and the bathroom was all set up for disabled people. We were still charged £90 per night for this room.... but after the first night I asked at reception for an upgrade and we were given a lovely room with a beautiful sea view and lovely comfy bed, still £90 per night but now actually worth it.We feel that the first room should be offered at a knock down price as, if we'd remained there it would have had a huge impact on our holiday.
But thankfully, there was a nice room available and the staff very kindly let us move into it which meant we had a great base to come back to, so we appreciated that.
All in all a very nice peaceful hotel, very clean and well run. We would recommend.

Friends over for Sunday lunch which we had booked in the Swiffen Restaurant. Excellent value, very popular with locals. Service courteous and prompt. All courses are ‘ help yourself’ except soup for starters. Carvery a choice of 3 meats plus fish with vegetables served to you after placing meat or fish by the carver on your plate.
Deserts are help yourself unless sorbets/ ice cream which are got for you.Very busy which shows how popular it is- good parking available in this central location which has excellent views of the Bailiwick

Friendly, affordable hotel in a spectacular setting within beautiful gardens overlooking the harbour of St Peter Port.
Stayed in a small, but comfortable single, en-suite room with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, good WiFi signal.
Decent buffet breakfast (continental and cooked).

Stayed last week, for a week, lovely hotel with the friendliest staff in any hotel i have ever stayed. Room and bathroom were small, clean and simply furnished but perfectly adequate, very comfortable bed, the view from the room was stunning. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of everything - cereals and fruit, juices, freshly cooked breakfast, toast and croissants, coffee and tea, couldnt ask for more. Suppers were wonderful we ate in on many occasions because the choices on the menu and the daily special menu were varied and catered for everyone, plus excellent value for money. Cream tea was also worth every penny, sitting on the terrace, with the fabulous view in the warm sunshine - bliss !! We also managed to attend a flower demonstration in the hotel one evening which was wonderful. We cant wait to go back to this lovely hotel, the warm welcome and great atmosphere, the staff were all so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and such a reasonable priced holiday. CAN DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL for a quiet, restful holiday with easy access to the town centre (5 mins downhill, 10 coming back!). Thank you Les Cotils for a great week!!

A pleasant place, nice garden with a view, plenty of parking, small hotel with a bar and dining room, and a casual eatery in a small conservatory. Food and service is average, but well located above the town.
