Go to Herm, it gives you just another perspectives on life! So calm and lovely. The mermaid inn, what a wonderful find after taking a walk around the island. Now if you have mobility issues unless you can order/ arrange for the golf buggy to get you up the hill it could be a difficult place to visit! With that said if you wanted a nice welcome then the mermaid is the place to visit- there is I am sure lots of activities in the summer months but even this half term there were games and movies for the children. Food was lovely and very welcoming- anyone who talks to the children and welcomes them is clearly focusing on the customers! Thank you it was lovely

A busy Saturday in Herm ended in an exceptional buffet lunch, we simply couldn't fault it! Multiple choices, great value!

Sadly, standards have dropped, having taken family over for the day we were presented with three very stale ciabatta lunches, even though it was only mid-day. The fish and chips were good, however, I noticed that the fish portion had halved from what was served last year. Go large? Not at £22.00... Did I complain, no, on a special day out it is less stressful to just suck it up, should it happen again my reaction will be different. It is sad that the beer garden has lost much of its charm, oppressively hot under enormous canopies that blot out the summer day, fake grass walls and no real greenery to be seen. Herm is the jewel of the Baliwick, a special place being spoiled by commercialization. Someone needs to step back and look at what is happening...

This was one of the nicest beaches I have ever come across. I could even liken it to the Caribbean but the weather is not always as predictable. Even with the grey sky of a windy late September day this beach was beautiful!

I was walking around the Island and stopped here for a rest. The beach is quiet and rather amazing. The cafe made it for me. I am on a medical diet, the chap in the cafe took the trouble to phone one of the people who makes the sausage rolls to make sure I could eat them, best sausage roll ever. Thank you for the most excellent customer service

This beach is a bit of a walk and can include some big steps/ Clift top walks. Buy if you have decent mobility its fine. If you don't like hights go left from the port. It's probably a bit longer, but much flatter.

The beach is small and secluded and I'd you take the flat route the last beach you come to, so it was quiet. But the sand is soft, the sea is clear and the waves were gentle. Rivals any beach you care to mention and the best I found in the channel islands. Honestly today it was at its best and that is world beating.

We moved here after the mermaid refused to provide the only vegan option on their menu.
TBH we were just grateful to be accommodated & to be greeted by friendly, helpful staff.
There was only one vegan option on the menu which thankfully was also gluten free. It was described as falafel but was more like a courgette cannelloni. The beans were over cooked & the rest was average at best. If you have a large appetite then you would stay hungry.
Everyone else’s meals were small & just ok. The food took ages to come & was definitively not worth the price tag. It was £73 for a one course lunch for 2 adults & 3 kids with one adult only having a starter.
However, the staff were lovely.
I’ve never seen this restaurant so empty & unfortunately it’s clear why.

Mussels to start were fantastic and well worth the price. Recommend the Thai green sauce. Main course I had a ciabatta which was very nice but would have preferred a little more. All in all, very nice

Was only having a drink here, so cannot say anything about their food. Has got two pool tables and is the place where the locals hang out.

Lovely little chapel. Quiet, calm atmosphere. There was a wedding while we were staying on Herm. What a lovely place to get married!

Friendly staff and great food. I can’t eat certain foods but I could always find something good on the menu and staff were happy to make adjustments to help me out.

Our nearest beach when staying at the holiday cottages in the middle of the island. Lovely beach cafe with very friendly staff. Clean beach, clean but chilly water. Great place to spend time in the sun!

This is a fantastic scenic beach on Herm Island. If you are in Guernsey you should spend a day on Herm and also visit this beach. There is a cafe as well. Unfortunately public toilets are a 5 minutes walk away at the next beach.

When we where there we have been very lucky, first with the weather and second a seal was chilling on the beach. If you experience the same please do me one davor and stay around 10 metres away from the seal. They belong there. We are guests.

Came here for a Sunday dinner, ordered our food was informed it may take a little longer but we were seeing the food come to other tables and it looked beautiful so no issues with waiting.
My roast lamb yorkshire puddding sausage in bacon and vegetables arrived and it was stunning. Cooked to perfection a huge portion lovely staff attentive no matter how busy. I would highly recommend this eatery and look forward to going again one day. Magnificent.

A beautiful Sunday Roast dinner, very tasty! All fresh and homemade! A slight down side was the wait but we were told this when we ordered.
The wait was definitely worth it, really nice!
Pudding amazing too.

What a great spot for the lucky owners. Open fire in the bar, good selection of drinks. Food was a let down. A massive over cooked Yorkshire pudding, when cut it disintegrated because it was way over cooked. The Sunday roast looked like it had been cooked the day before and sliced on a machine. Sad as this place has the monopoly . Next time I will take a picnic.

Can’t comment on how this pub functions normally or what the food is like on a normal tourist day as we visited it as the location for the Herm 80’s Rock fest which obviously is not a normal working evening. Hi everyone was are qualified to comment on what the beers like.
Internally the pub has a large open plan main bar room then a couple of separate sections off of this. Light blue colour scheme with a nautical theme as you would expect and then an impressive collection of beer mats showing this pubs commitment to local and guest real ales. There’s a large fireplace which I imagine makes this a cosy pub in winter. But the Key selling point in summer is the excellent large external courtyard on two levels with lots of table seating under awnings to the side and massive jumbrellas to the middle, the lower section of which houses the main stage for the live music events.
The main bar section has four ale hand pumps and Liberation Herm Island Gold is the constant house beer, then for our visit Brains SA and Butcombe Defiant ESB were on as guests with the fourth pump unused. The Herm Island Gold was a superb pint and sustained us all evening through the fest. for the 80’s Rock Herm Fest
