These are just some of the many activities you could do to celebrate Father’s Day on the 21st June.
Here are a few suggestions:
Paint Dad a unique mug for his tea or coffee at Hot Pot Pottery. If you go along to Hot Pot Pottery on the 12th or 13th of June you can decorate a mug and it will be ready for you to gift wrap on Sunday the 14th. Pack a picnic for Proms in the Park on the 20th June at The Speech House Hotel. Not only will there be music but also a Sealed Knot Battle Re-enactment, a Historic Aeroplane Flypast and fireworks! Puzzlewood are offering free archery taster sessions for dads on Father’s Day (provided that they are accompanied by a responsible child). So if your father has always fancied himself as Robin Hood, this will be a great opportunity for him to see if he is good enough to wear those green tights! For dog lovers, Dymock have a Dog Show and Strawberry Fayre at their village hall on Father’s Day. So you could watch the dogs strut their stuff and then have a delicious afternoon tea. https://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/forest-of-dean/events/feature/strawberry-fayre-and-companion-dog-show-1433321995-6124
If you think dad could do with a rest how about a relaxing journey along the Dean Forest Railway behind one of their steam locomotives? Dad could just sit back and enjoy the lovely scenery while the sounds and smells of the steam engine bring back memories of days gone by. https://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/forest-of-dean/events/feature/steam-days
