With the school holidays now upon us here are some ideas for things to do with the little cherubs over the 6 week holidays.

Parks

We have some amazing parks in Fleet, which are all free to use, and can help burn some of that everlasting energy they have. Each of the parks have something different to offer: Basingbourne is near the woods, so you can have a fun time exploring nature and looking out for those mini beasts followed up with some fun in the play park, Zebon have 2 play parks, for the older and younger kids, if your little ones are after some aerial speed then Ancels have a zip wire they can whizz along on as well as a large field and play park,  Eveltham Health has plenty to do too, with their many play parks and nature reserve there is also wide cycle paths too.

Tennis

Whether your children want to try their hands at becoming the next Murray, Williams or Federer why not pop along to Calthorpe Park Tennis courts where you can play for £6 for an hour or a while family can play for £36 for the whole year. Details are HERE. Or the courts in Elvetham Heath by the Key centre available to hire for £5 per hour for you and the little ones.

50 Things to do

The National Trust has a great 50 Things to do before you're 11 3/4 - there are loads of things on this list you can do locally for free, click HERE for your free fun download.

Walks

Kids love to walk and run, and there are so many great places to let them walk, run and explore.

We are so lucky to have such great open spaces like Fleet Pond you will find a map on there too with three different walking routes available to try at different lengths.  Another wonderful place to go walking is along the Basingstoke Canal, this gorgeous canal runs for 32 miles, from Greywell Village to Woodham in Surrey.

If you want to try your hand at fishing Tackle Up sell starter kits as well as Fishing permits. Fleet pond also allows fishing at certain times of the year.

And if you're at the Basingstoke Canal why not start and end your walk at The Barley Mow or fox and Hounds to maybe have a drink or a spot of lunch.

Don't forget Hart also run guided walks click HERE for more details.

The Cow Parade takes place in the Surrey Hills throughout July and August - find out more here. The display also includes Milkshake Maker, a cow designed by a local Fleet artist which is on Stag Hill by Guildford Cathedral.

Rainy Days

Fleet Library is always a good place to go when the weather isn't very nice. This summer their summer reading challenge is 'Animal agents' where the kids can get points for the books they read over the summer leading up to a medal and certificate.

They've also got lots of inspiration for adult summer reading too.
