It may still be summer, but you can’t plan too far ahead when it comes to sell-out Christmas parties! Local Hospice Care charity Phyllis Tuckwell has opened ticket sales for its Moonlit in Marrakesh parties, which will be held on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd December, at FIVE in Farnborough - so buy yours now and look forward to an exotic evening themed around this vibrant and energetic city.

Taking their inspiration from the city where centuries of Bedouin tribes and traders have exchanged secrets over spices, silks and silver in market places, these evenings will delight the senses. A lamp-lit wooden bridge will lead you past tranquil fountains and ornate bronze sculptures, to a sumptuous palm-lined dining area nestling beneath a ceiling of twinkling stars. A hypnotic display of dancers, entertainers and aerial performers will entertain you as you are served your three-course meal, after which you can relax in the cushioned Kasbah, grab a refreshing Casablanca Beer, ride the unique Camel Rodeo or simply dance the night away at the disco.

These Christmas parties are a big fundraiser for Phyllis Tuckwell, which cares for patients and families who are living with a terminal illness such as cancer, in West Surrey and North East Hampshire. As the NHS/Government only covers 20% of its costs, it has to raise over £20,000 a day to be able to provide the medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support which it offers to its patients and their families - in their own homes, in the community, at its Hospice in Farnham and at its Beacon Centre in Guildford. Last year’s Christmas parties raised enough money to cover the cost of the charity’s Hospice Care at Home (HCAH) team for nearly five weeks. This team of nurses visit patients who have chosen to spend their last days, and to die, at home, instead of in hospital or at the Hospice. Phyllis Tuckwell’s HCAH nurses look after around 50 patients each month, visiting them as frequently as they need, and offering emotional support to their families too.

These Christmas parties are kindly supported by Best Parties Ever and are sponsored by Award-winning Premier Panel Skills, Farnham’s only manufacturer approved car body repair centre. The parties will start at 7pm and will include a charity casino, indoor dodgems, a professional photographer, Christmas crackers, a raffle and auctions with fantastic prizes, and a survivors’ breakfast, before ending at1am.

Tickets are £40 per person and can be purchased by calling Phyllis Tuckwell’s Fundraising team on 01252 729446, emailing fundraising@pth.org.uk or visiting www.pth.org.uk/event-diary
