Local collector Geoff Stow’s post-Second-World-War radios are currently on display in RAMM’s What Do You Collect? cabinet. The accompanying panel includes a few details to give an indication of collector’s passion and the breadth of their collection and Geoff mentioned his dream object: a B&O FM Portable from the early seventies. This lead to a kind visitor, Roger Brandon, offering to fulfil his dream. A joyous Geoff said “Thank you so much… You are right: this is my dream object and it will be the centrepiece of my little collection along with the PYE designed by Robin Day.”
Roger Brandon will be presenting the radio to Geoff Stow in the Finders Keepers? gallery at 2pm on Tuesday 16 September when they will be available for interview and photographs.
The Radio display, along with its new centrepiece, will be in the Finders Keepers? gallery until 21 September. This display will be followed by a collection of artefacts from the First World War, starting on 14 October.
