Stride pianist Dave Browning returns with his Jazz Cats, playing energetic Dixieland jazz inspired by ‘Wild’ Bill Davison, the noted American cornetist who worked with Eddie Condon. Special guest: Tom ‘Spats’ Langham.
Known for his dazzling technique and dynamic performances, Dave Browning has long been celebrated in jazz circles for his authentic reinterpretations of classic stride piano. His Jazz Cats ensemble brings together talented musicians who share a deep love for traditional jazz, delivering spirited renditions that pay homage to legends of the genre.
Their repertoire draws on the lively sounds of early twentieth-century New Orleans and Chicago jazz, guaranteeing an evening filled with toe-tapping rhythms and exuberant solos. Joining them for this special event is Tom 'Spats' Langham, whose versatile skills on guitar and banjo add another layer of excitement to each performance.
Audiences can expect not only virtuoso musicianship but also engaging stories about some of the greats who shaped jazz history.
