The Alvar Treefrogs is a newly formed band with origins dating back ten years. Established with the intention of reviving genres that once defined the vibrant atmosphere of New Orleans in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, the group aims to reintroduce this dynamic music to contemporary audiences.
The band was conceived on Alvar Street, New Orleans, inspired by an evening spent listening to local treefrogs. It took eight years to assemble the ideal group of musicians, each selected for their ability to perform with energy, vocal talent, and a shared appreciation for light-hearted wordplay. The players needed to swing, sing and love a frog-based pun. Ever wanted to sing about eggs and butter, about garbage men, about your Aunt Tilly? The Alvar Tree Frogs are your band!!
While the members have a modest affinity for frog-themed puns, they are recognized as outstanding musicians within their field. Each member maintains an active career across London and beyond, having collaborated with renowned artists such as Quincy Jones and Pete Tong.
