Pershore Jazz Festival is set to return throughout the weekend 13 – 15 August 2021 at Pershore College. It will be a fantastic showcase with an ensemble of UK’s best and most popular jazz musicians and singers. As usual, the festival will provide you with a variety of festival favourites, new bands and artists who offer different genres of jazz to suit all tastes.

Pershore Jazz Festival will offer you the opportunity to see and hear an array of top-class shows from the cream of UK’s jazz bands who will be performing throughout the festival, including: Alan Barnes Swing Sextet, Ben Holder, Bruce Adams, Cate Cody, Graham Smith’s Shades of Jazz, Hot Fingers and Robert Fowler, Hotsy Totsy, Jamie Brownfield, Jukes Jazz Society, Julian Stringle Sextet, Mike Owen’s Festival Freaks,  Roy Sainsbury’s Rhythm Chiefs, Tad Newton’s Jazz Friends, Tony’s Tailgate Stompers and the Washington Whirligig.

 

The large Festival Orchestra will play a wide repertoire of entertainment each night. On Friday, they will present Hot Harlem, a dazzling virtuosity and scintillating variety of Harlem’s best bands from the 20s & 30s. On Saturday, the orchestra will offer a tribute to the late, great Keith Nichols. The festival finale will be ‘Swing is Here’ on Sunday night. Don’t miss it!

 

Throughout the weekend you will also have the opportunity to get up close to listen to talented musicians including: Debbie Arthurs, Nicholas D Ball, Ian Bateman, Emily Campbell, Tom Clarke-Hill, Bryan Corbett, Jack Cotterill, Ben Cummings, John Hallam, Ed Harrison, Graham Hughes, Andy Hulme, Thomas “Spats” Langham, Martin Litton, Michael McQuaid, Nick Millward, Craig Milverton, Amy Roberts, Zoltan Sagi, Malcolm Sked, Sarah Spencer, Jim Swinnerton, Analucia Tomasso, Nick Ward and Gary Wood.

 

The whole experience will leave your feet tapping, pulses racing and faces smiling from listening to established stars, heritage legends and new emerging talent such as Alex Clarke. Alex was a Finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020, and the winner of the "Rising Star" category in the prestigious 2019 British Jazz Awards, she is one of the most exciting young jazz musicians emerging on the UK jazz scene. Also appearing are Enrico Tomasso, Julian Marc Stringle, Dave Newton and Alan Barnes, who all won awards at the 2019 British Jazz Awards.

 

Pershore College provides a wonderful setting to relax and experience the festival atmosphere, including sampling the delights of real ales and College fermented cider in the bar and an all-day cafeteria. There is ample free parking, plus camping for tents, caravans and motor homes in the beautiful surroundings of the College grounds, with hot showers laid on. The festival site is wheelchair and Blue Badge parking friendly throughout.
