Ges gave us a fantastic workshop which was well structured with very useful content but also gave us the freedom to experiment with the different techniques he suggested. Ges generously agreed to run a short confidence and technique building session for a group of people with aphasia who attend Dyscover (www.dyscover.org.uk) People with aphasia find it difficult to use and understand language, usually as a result of stroke. Ges immediately set everyone at ease, and despite their limited language effectively helped all participants to understand the 5 simple skills for boosting confidence and engagement. He encouraged people to try changing one thing about the way they presented themselves and experience the difference in how they felt and how they were perceived. The session was fun, easy to follow and one of the most effective examples of training I've seen.
