Visited cafe whilst at the library. Lovely warmed fruit scones served with jam of choice and butter. Coffee and hot chocolate were both good. Cost is very reasonable. Library and museum worth the visit.

Calling in at the end of a walk alongside a local stream, We found a nice , light, internal space with a library and various meeting facilities.

At the moment, there's a display of local schoolchildren's art work, and some of it was very good indeed.

There's also a small cafe - pleasant enough, and serves a good cup of tea.

The grounds are nice for a quiet sit down, looking out over the river. Ducks to feed and nice flowers/shrubs. Family and dog friendly.

Modern (1970) circular building and community resource, with a most interesting museum on the mezzanine floor. Interpretation panels everywhere.

Bourne Hall is comprised a large building, housing a sizeable public library, a small museum, a range of meetings rooms, a cafe area and some small treatment rooms. Outside are significant grounds boasting a wonderful large pond full of aquatic life, ducks and geese. The surrounding grounds are well laid out with shady wooded areas populated by quite friendly grey squirrels and loads of pigeons.

Car Parking is a bit on the expensive side and generally you can find a space. The West Ewell Train Station is only about 5 minutes walk away.

The meeting rooms / halls are used by a number of local groups but, really, there should be more.

The coffee shop is a bit of a let down. Quite poor quality, pre-packed food and machine dispensed coffee. I am sure that if this was run by a local company they would put more effort into optimising the huge space they have.

The library is modern looking and friendly, I often let me children browse the library whilst having a coffee as you can watch the only entrance easily from the cafe area seating.

Another travesty is that the local authority closes the building (not the grounds) on a Sunday, when the population are most likely to want to use it. It seems such a waste of an amenity.
