The morning peace of cabaret star Jack's country home is first disturbed by his co-star Maggie, come to bemoan her latest romantic disaster, then shattered by the arrival of his ex-music hall parents, Beatrice and Charlie, with every intention of staying for a bit: 'We'll be gone before Christmas' ... but it is only January!!!
A day and night of the ructions that follow are enough to split an atom, never mind a family. Who goes where, and who doesn't, and what happens next, turns all lives topsy turvy.
