Go Epsom is pleased to announce that Surrey Day will be hosted in Epsom this year for the first time!
Surrey Day is on Saturday, 9th May, and it aims to celebrate everything that is wonderful about the county and encourages locals to find out more about where they live and work. Surrey Day is a partnership between BBC Radio Surrey, Visit Surrey and the Surrey Lieutenancy.
The theme this year is ‘Underground’ and Hidden Gems. Go Epsom will be helping to coordinate activities in and around the town and encouraging as many businesses, attractions and community groups to get involved.

Epsom’s unique Deep Shelter will be open for guided tours by Hidden Histories on the 9th May to mark the day. Join an underground, torchlit tour to explore these amazing hidden wartime air raid shelter tunnels.
Built to protect the citizens of the sleepy suburbs from Luftwaffe attack during the Second World War. Constructed 50 feet underground, the grid of brick and metal-lined tunnels provided shelter to 1,500 people. Now long forgotten and hidden in woodland on the edge of Epsom, this is a secret, unique and fascinating reminder of the dark days of Hitler’s Blitz on Britain.
There will be 3 tours on the day, and the duration of each tour is approx 2 hours. To Book Click The Time Slot You Require 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm
