Hogsmill Outfall Safari

Tuesday 3rd March

6:30 to 8:30pm

Bourne Hall Ewell

We’re revisiting the Hogsmill in March 2020 to update our Outfall Safari results.

The Outfall Safari method involves systematically surveying the entire length of a river to locate and score misconnected outfalls. This allows the pollution to be reported to Thames Water and the Environment Agency so that it can be tackled. You can read more about them here: www.southeastriverstrust.org/get-involved/outfall-safaris/

If you’re interested in taking part on the Hogsmill then please join us at the Outfall Safari training session. Once you’ve completed this you’ll be able to sign up to survey a stretch with other volunteers to help us map and report polluting outfalls. The window for completing the survey will be the 4th of March until the 5th of April (weather permitting). Surveying a stretch may take a few hours so you will need to have some availability during the survey window.
