If you’re looking for something a little different to do locally — especially with curious kids (or curious adults!) — there’s an exciting new attraction to explore in Nonsuch Park.
The Solar System Walk has recently been installed, offering a unique, interactive and educational experience that brings space a little closer to home.
Starting near the mansion and coffee shop in Nonsuch Park, this cleverly designed walk takes you on a journey through our solar system — all scaled down into a walkable trail.
As you move along the route, you’ll encounter different planets positioned at distances that reflect their real spacing in space. It’s a fantastic way to visualise just how vast our solar system really is — something that’s hard to grasp otherwise!
Created by Ewell Astronomical Society, the Solar System Walk is designed to be both fun and educational.
It’s ideal for:
Each stop along the way provides interesting facts and insights, making it a great opportunity to learn something new while enjoying the outdoors.
We’re so lucky to have beautiful open spaces like Nonsuch Park on our doorstep — and initiatives like this make them even more valuable.
It’s a perfect example of how our local parks can be used not just for relaxation, but also for learning, discovery and inspiration.
Why not combine your Solar System adventure with:
It’s a simple, free activity that offers something a little bit special.
