Counselling for individuals in Epsom & Ewell and the area
Gillian Nichols is a mother and grandmother who understands the pressures of living a busy and stressful life and the effect this can have on our mental health. She has been involved in counselling for many years in a voluntary capacity and in private practice. She enjoys volunteering at Epsom & Ewell Foodbank where she meets those needing this service and leads outreach events for the church.
Gillian has experience in counselling clients with a wide range of difficulties including depression and low mood, bereavement and loss, stress and anger, anxiety and panic attacks, personal development, choices and transitions, relationship difficulties, lack of self-esteem/self-worth, feeling unfulfilled, unsure of life’s meaning. Gillian Nichols works with clients of any or no faith; however she also has the experience and knowledge needed to help Christians who want a spiritual and biblical insight into their situations.
A highly qualified and professional counsellor, Gillian can journey with you, exploring how past events along with current situations are preventing you from experiencing freedom and enabling you to discover emotional, mental and spiritual restoration.

Sometimes it’s good to talk
As we go through life – things change and so do we. The many influences on our lives from family, work and other pressures can mean that we can feel we are losing control. We may have decided on the ‘route’ to take to help us move forward, but sometimes that path is not clear – or we need help in taking it.
Through the process of counselling we can talk through the issues we have in a confidential environment – without outside pressures – allowing us to take back control.
ANXIETY
Do you feel trapped by your anxieties and phobias? Are you interested in finding out where these worries stem from? Perhaps you might have developed a form of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) as a method of coping but this has now become destructive. Gillian Nichols Counselling can help you explore your feelings in a calm and relaxed environment and give you strategies for coping in anxiety-provoking situations.
DEPRESSION
If you are experiencing an extended period of deep sadness, you could be suffering from depression. Gillian Nichols Counselling has substantial experience in helping people with depression to see hope and overcome dark times. Gillian Nichols Counselling can help you to open up and release feelings which may be troubling you.
SELF-ESTEEM
If you find it difficult to see the positives within yourself, you may be suffering from low self-esteem. Gillian Nichols Counselling is an expert in confidence-building and can help you to understand the key elements of yourself you should be proud of and how to use these to your advantage in life, in order to achieve what you want. Gillian Nichols will help you by setting goals and will support you in a plan to make you feel more motivated and positive about life.
RELATIONSHIPS
Relationships, especially those with the people closest to us, can have a strong impact on our quality of life. If you feel there are relationships within your life that are causing you to feel stressed and unhappy, Gillian Nichols Counselling can help you to decode why this might be and she will help you explore how the way you behave in certain situations could improve your daily mood.
