Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership is a charity working to support Surrey residents into sustainable employment and work-related learning. The importance of providing this local support continues to grow with rising unemployment levels. 

We are setting up an Employment and Skills Hub in the Mole Valley area, for which we are seeking a Coordinator to join our small friendly team. The individual we seek has project and process management experience; is self-motivated, tenacious and proactive and above all is seeking to support people to succeed in employment. The individual will have a strong interest in and commitment to social inclusion, equality and diversity. 

The person who joins us will work as part of the small Hub team but will also lead and manage the team. They will coordinate Hub processes and procedures; supervise staff and drive Hub activity and outcomes; leading from the front on a day-to-day basis. A full job description is available on request. In brief, responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Proactive day to day problem solving to ensure smooth customer journeys for all who engage with the Hub
  • Build and maintain effective staff; employer and partner relationships; ensuring everyone is clear about responsibilities; procedures; processes and ways of working
  • Establish and maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism throughout the Hub’s work; including regular staff performance review and development
  • Effective and timely record keeping and reporting; including accurate and timely collection of feedback on quality of service
  • Outreach and networking to build new strategic connections which drive up Hub outcomes and sustainability
  • Promote and drive Hub engagement; ensuring Hub days are vibrant, busy and productive
  • Build awareness and take up of employment schemes such as Apprenticeships; Traineeships; Kickstart; Access to Work; Work Trials

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills; effectively juggling priorities
  • Strong ability to meet regular reporting deadlines and enable others to do so
  • Ability to work effectively in and manage a small multi practitioner team
  • Proactive and effective third-party outreach; networking and marketing skills
  • Excellent communicator with strong ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Drive and commitment to prioritise investment of time, effort and activity into critical paths which lead to key performance outcomes
  • Willing to work virtually and to travel to 3 Mole Valley locations 

Terms and Conditions:

Salary £27,000 p.a.

The post is full time and will initially be for 12 months.

Job share and/or flexible working hours will be considered.

Location: Working virtually and, once Covid guidelines permit, in 3 locations across Mole Valley District, Surrey.
