Welcome to Skim City: London’s first urban ski skimming event.
Get ready for something London has never seen before. icebreaker, the New Zealand-born leader in merino wool activewear, is bringing the thrill of alpine snowsports right to the banks of the Thames with the ciy's first-ever urban pond skim.
On Saturday 11th October, from 12-6pm at Potters Fields Park beneath Tower Bridge, witness the best from the UK's ski community attempt to make it across an eight-metre pool of icy water - armed only with skis, merino wool and their mettle.
Expect high-energy stunts, big splashes and a unique chance to experience the fun of mountain life in the heart of the city. Visitors can also take part themselves, with public tutorials available to book on the day, giving beginners the chance to learn pond-skimming basics from the pros.
