We’re excited to announce that our Youth Theatre members are taking part in the National Theatre Connections and are performing a home performance of [ BLANK ] on 22, 23 and 24 February.
Alice Birch’s commission for NT connections and Clean Break is a collection of 50 scenes telling the innumerable stories of women and children affected by the criminal justice system. [ BLANK ] is a play about what life is like when adults feel absent from the system and it’s about the unacknowledged victims of crime: the children who are inevitably left behind.
For Chickenshed’s Youth Theatre, [ BLANK ] provides an exciting challenge from the outset of the creative process. This youth-led production offers the opportunity to take ownership of an innovative script and gives the young people involved the freedom to interpret the material, in terms of both structure and style. This piece will be performed both at Chickenshed and at Artsdepot as part of the NT Connections Festival 2018.
Dates: 22 Feb (8pm), 23, 24 Feb (6pm & 8pm)
Age suitability: 14+ Strong language and subject matter throughout.
