⚓ What to expect
Free admission to a museum dedicated to Eastbourne's lifeboat history
Exhibits about daring rescues and the crews who served the town
The story of Eastbourne lifeboats and their involvement in the Dunkirk evacuation
Displays showing how lifeboats and search and rescue technology have developed
An adjoining RNLI shop selling gifts and souvenirs that help support lifesaving at sea
The museum occupies the William Terriss Memorial Boathouse, built in 1898 on King Edward's Parade. It preserves an important part of Eastbourne's maritime heritage while celebrating the work of RNLI volunteers. Opening depends on volunteer availability and weather conditions, so visitors should check before travelling.
