This community-focused organisation exists to support local people and good causes across Polegate and the surrounding area. Originally started as the Polegate Scarecrows Community Fund in 2019, it became the Polegate Community Foundation in 2022 to broaden its impact and support more community initiatives.
Volunteers and supporters raise funds through events, campaigns and giving programmes to help local groups, charities and residents. Projects have included community litter picking initiatives, events that bring people together, and fundraising efforts that have supported hospices, medical transport charities and other local causes.
Although it began with the popular Scarecrow Festivals, the Foundation’s work now embraces a wider range of activities that help residents engage with each other and contribute to community wellbeing. Everyone is welcome to participate, volunteer or support fundraising efforts that benefit the wider Polegate and East Sussex community.Â
