This month (July) Plastic Free Eastbourne is a "Good Cause". When you shop in Waitrose Old Town, you can choose Plastic Free Eastbourne for popping your green tokens into the slot. The more tokens we get, the more money Waitrose will donate to our campaign. We are trying to gain the coveted "Plastic Free Eastbourne" status from Surfers Against Sewage ~ the Cornwall base charity that is working on getting hundreds of Plastic Free Communities across the country. Thank you, if you choose to participate.
By placing a token in the Community Matters box at your local branch you’re helping your community. Since its launch in 2008, the scheme has donated over £30 million to good causes in store and online
At the end of your shop in branch, you’ll receive a token to place in a box of the good cause you’d most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive. Each month every Waitrose & Partners branch donates £1,000 (£500 in Convenience shops) between 3 local good causes that you choose.
