The 6 hour emergency first aid at work class is completed as a 1 day in person course. The course covers what to do in an emergency situation with a child (over 1yr) or adult and is suitable for anyone who wants to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment.
Ideal for those who want to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk environment. By the end of the course successful candidates will be able to:
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
Assess an incident including conducting a primary survey.
Help an adult or child who is unresponsive but breathing normally.
Help a casualty who is having a seizure.
Help an adult or child who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally.
CPR including using an AED.
Recognise and assist an adult or child who is choking.
Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding including recognising shock.
Help someone with a minor injury.
Help someone with a suspected break/fracture.
All attendees will receive a course book. All successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
