We run the Young Enterprise Company programme, which helps young people in local schools and colleges prepare for work by gaining commercial experience by running their own company, making or buying then selling real products and services to the public, so gaining an understanding of how business works and an entrepreneurial spirit.

To be good employees, managers and even business owners, young people need to understand how companies work and how the commercial world operates.  By running their own company, under the auspices of the charity, with their school or college friends and colleagues not only gives them that understanding but significantly increases their confidence and prepares them for the world of work.

Funds are needed to run the scheme in the local area.  A number of events are put on through the Young Enterprise year, including a Launch to those taking part, Masterclasses to provide an understanding of the functions of a business, Trade fairs for the young people to sell their products and services etc, all culminating in the Area Finals.

You can get involved by becoming a Business Adviser to one of the teams, becoming a sponsor, either as a company / organisation or individually or simply by volunteering to help run the scheme in the local area.  You will enjoy the excitement and satisfaction of working with and transforming the attitudes of young people, to open their eyes to the world of enterprise.
