The clubs ESFL team take on unbeaten Wittersham this week in a 3pm kick off a the EastbourneSportsPark. Wittersham currently sit one place and one point above rangers in third position in the league table, although they have played one more game.

On the opening day of the season, Wittersham crushed division 2 new boys Northiam 6-2 at Northiam Rec while 7 days later, Wittersham’s first home game of the season saw them grind out a 2-2 draw with JC Tackleway. Last weekend they repeated the scoreline of the opening day by sweeping aside Crowhurst 6-2 at Wittersham Rec. They clearly have no problem with scoring goals, with 14 already registered this season but have conceded 6 goals in three games. Rangers will of course hope to keep up their unbeaten start to the campaign going which has seen 12 goals scored and none conceded in their opening 2 fixtures. Jamie Strong has scored 7 times while Dan Wilkes has netted twice with both Wilkes goals coming last weekend.

Our MSFL side entertain Sporting Elite II at the sports park this week in a 2pm kick off. Elite are one place above rangers in second by virtue of goals scored.  Both teams are on maximum points after the opening two fixtures which means something simply has to give this weekend in division 6. Elite have started their 2014/15 campaign with two home fixtures (a complete contrast to rangers) and opened their account two weeks ago by securing a 3-2 over Keymer – rangers opponents of last weekend. Elite then brushed aside Copthorne IV 5-1 which has seen them secure second place in the table. Having scored 8 and conceded 3, rangers will have to be aware of the attacking threat this weeks opposition possess with two of their players, Jamie Walker and Michael Busbridge, already having scored three times with the latter bagging a hatrick last time out. But rangers should also consider that they themselves are very potent in front of goal having scored 7 away goals with Joe Horton leading the way with two goals, with support coming from numerous others in the team.

Good luck to both sides – let’s secure all six points again.
