Owners helpful room (single) fine, Breakfast good, all round value plus the added bonus of car parking. The location is spot on just a few mins from the front with all its attractions. Staff were smiley which helps.

We stayed at the Sheldon for 4 nights,
We arrived to find the room quite warm, so we asked if a fan was available and within 10 minutes a fan was brought up to our room,
We stayed in room 14 which is a lovely room at the back away from the road,
Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing,
And we had a cook breakfast as covid restrictions have been lowered.
Would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend.

We were pleased with the rooms (3 singles) Clean and comfy and, worth noting, lovely quality bed linen. All with their own shower rooms.

We were able to check in a bit early and it’s great that the Sheldon has its own off street parking.

The Sheldon is literally about 3 mins from the beach and a short walk into the centre of Eastbourne.

Definitely giving the Sheldon the thumbs up.

We stayed overnight for a single night on a Friday. We have stayed at numerous hotels in the area while visiting a family member and so base our bookings on reviews and price.
We booked about a week or so before and got a reasonable price through using a discount and due to having some reward value from previous bookings.
I personally find the prices in Eastbourne quite high generally given the quality of the furnishings and facilities.
The building as with most is a little tired as was the room. I do not necessarily hold that agianst them hence the 4 stars as it is pretty common in the other hotels and B&Bs in the area we have stayed. The room was clean, had a decent enough tea service and fresh towels.
There was parking available although we seemed to grab the last spot and it was a tight squeeze but having parking was a definite bonus.
We booked with breakfast and were glad we did.
Check in was quick and painless, and friendly, asking how far we had travelled. We were asked about breakfast and what time, we got the impression most people had beeked for later in the window. As such we offered to take whenever would be best which was 8am. I jokingly suggested an extra sausage for helping out!
The hotel is off of the seafront so was not as noisy as it could have been had it been closer.
we were in room 29 I believe, which you accessed through a common room. there appeared to be a bit of deflection of the floor near the door to the bathroom and general condition was average with a decent sized tv that was movable. The room had a small two seater sofa too, a small table and a counter with the tea service. There were bedside tables. We couldn't really access the power sockets near the bed so left our phones in the point where the tv, kettle fan satelite tv etc was, this was the only real negative although we had a multipoint adapter with usb ports and plugged my laptop in to play our own media on the tv. The TV and set top box were wired and there were only tow sockets which meant there was no way to use multipe without your own extension. We did not hunt around especially but it would probably be a good and easy upgrade to either add additional points or an additional adapter or an extension on the bedside cabinet.
The sleep was decent enough and although disturbed by the storm that was occouring overnight both of us slept through.
The bathroom was again basic but servicable with a shower over bath tub. Water was warm enough and just about high enough not to have to contort (I'm around 6ft so might be more of an issue if you are taller than that.
The room had blinds which were fine although it was never going to offer a full blackout but stopped most of the light after getting the angle as steep as possible.
The breakfast was nice, and process was covid secure, we were told to pick a table with a marker to say it was clean and good to go, There was hand gel on the table, the order was at the table and crerals and fruit, yogurt tea coffee and juices were available self service. My comment was tongue in cheek comment about an extra sausage was acknowledged with a big breakfast (Which was delicious) and was a nice touch. The food was hot and made to order without too much of a delay.
We left shortly after - check out was as simple as check in. And again was friendly albeit a different person on the counter.
This was a good budhet friendly B&B (Eastbourne prices) we would stay again. The B&B had a relatively simple precheck in check in, and had plenty of information for before had. The team were friendly and were even assisting people getting out of the rather tight car park.
The room we was in could benefit from some TLC to really push the standard up but again this was probably a better room than a lot of others we have stayed in around the same price so a good option!

What a fab little find. Can't recommend enough. Clean rooms with everything you need for a very reasonable price
Amazing service, couldn't do enough and even moved their car for me so I could park out the front as I have a large car that I couldn't manoeuvre into a space in the car park.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again - great place!

We had a 2 night stay at The Sheldon. Easy check in online up to 48 hours before arrival. A very warm welcome on arrival.
The room was very spacious and well equipped. Private, free onsite parking was a big bonus. Great location within walking distance of the beach and shopping centre.
Extremely friendly staff. Very helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much thank you.
PS, teenager behaved very well in our absence lol x

I stayed for a week at The Sheldon. Right from the get go at check in, the hosts were absolutely fantastic, so very accommodating in every way. The room was very clean and spacious with everything that you need for a relaxing stay for business or pleasure.
The daily breakfast was 5 stars, prepared by the hosts themselves (thanks Greg).
We had some additional lovely touches in that we got engaged and the hosts sent down a bottle of bubbles and a card, so very sweet and thoughtful. Totally LGBTQ friendly in every way.
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this lovely place when next in Eastbourne.
Many thanks to Judith, Greg and smiling Maria 😊

I loved my stay at The Sheldon, and only wish it was longer. Judith and her team looked after all my needs. Perfect room, with the best hot shower in years. Brilliant breakfast which set me up for hiking. Very friendly and full of advice too. Just a few minutes from the train station and just off the front, location is perfect too

A short visit to do some hiking. Judy and her small team were amazingly helpful. My room was clean, spacious and had space to relax. Best shower I have had in many years with plenty of hot water. Highly recommended and nice and central so could find all I needed on foot. Looking forward to a chance to come back

Unfortunately my booking for a 4 night stay (24/12 - 28/12) was cancelled by the owner, due to a case of Covid-19 in the property. Obviously this means that their whole business will be shut down throughout Christmas and the New Year.
It's such a shame when small, independent owners have to take such drastic action to keep everyone safe.
I look forward to staying there in the future.

Nice B&B with added benefit of off the road parking..Rooms clean and tidy with comfortable bed.
Not so sure about the breakfast in a bag, understood CV issues, but felt that a tray could have been used ,with tea or coffee pot,cup and saucer, glass of orange juice, bowl for cereal, daughter had hot food that arrived Luke warm. Toast arrived in polythene bag ,soon learnt to take out straight away as it became wet in the bag. They state most of the packaging is recyclable,But that’s not an issue if you did as I have suggested. All that is required is to wash up.
Otherwise give them a try.

Hi Chris, Part of our covid conditions to reopen was to have disposable items, do we are not cross contaminating us, our staff and indeed other guests by using reusable items. We have sourced veg-ware, bio or photo-degradable products to ensure we are not burdening our planet. Lots of thought and consideration has gone into our re-opening and we do clearly advertise what we are offering.
We stayed here for just one night. What a lovely hotel. Will definitely be my go to place when I come to Eastbourne. I had my elderly parents with me also. The rooms we had were clean and spacious and despite these COVID times and restrictions it was comfortable, clean and homely. Breakfast was safely delivered to our rooms and was fresh and of a really good standard. The best part was the proximity of the hotel to the beach and town. For Mum, who has limited mobility it was an easy walk to a restaurant in the evening and a town visit in the morning. So wonderful being so close to the sea. I enjoyed a sunrise stroll along the prom reliving happy memories of my youth there! We were very happy and impressed by how well they were coping with the restricted service. We met Judy, the owner, who was welcoming and clear about how we could have a safe stay. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to stay. Excellent location. Staff really friendly and very accommodating. Very clean, good size rooms with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits etc. Very COVID compliant, felt very safe. Loved the breakfast in a bag, very well thought out with a choice of hot breakfast rolls, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and flapjacks. The added benefit of off road private parking. Would definitely recommend. :D

Thank you so much.
The double suite room was spacious and perfect for a weekend break even in off season. Breakfast outside the room was a nice touch during COVID-19. However, the only thing resembling a spoon in the room was a stirring stick, and that was just one. Odd that such an oversight was made considering the teas and coffees provided. Spoilt what was otherwise a 5/5 room.
