When booking at short notice and arriving from Brighton, Fiona was very helpful in meeting me and organising the evening meal at short notice.

The room was very clean tidy and wanted to stay longer.
The kitchen staff were rushed off their feet and worked well. Keep up the good work and will return. Thank you.

Stayed for one night only but happy with the experience.

Location great, safe and room clean with useful complimentary tea/coffee. Breakfast was good, well organised and with attentive staff.

Generally Staff friendly and really very helpful which counts for a lot. Inadvertently locked myself out of my room at 3am and needed to drag personnel out of bed. He responded pleasantly, was up to my floor in no time letting me in with a smile and declined to accept a tip for his troubles despite my insistence.

Short but pleasant stay and would recommend! If in Eastbourne, will stay there again.

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the staff at the Afton Hotel. From getting things set up for my events to putting up with my endless meetings in their lounge area. Today they even accommodated my filming about thebestof with Lone Coyote TV! Such a flexible venue I think they are great :)

Travelled from Bristol and stayed 2 nights at the Afton Hotel, it is a nicely situated hotel right across the road from the Pier. The reception on check in was very good, the room was nice and clean. The evening meal and breakfast was very good. The hotel is not a 5 star hotel but is a very good place to stay. We were there when England played Italy and we had a superb time, the owner is Italian and his Wife is English, there were family present there and the banter was good.Fair play to them the provided Sandwiches and Pizza, and all drinks were £2 what ever you drank whilst the game was on. Would definatly recommend this hotel

Stayed for one night on the day England played their first game against Italy in the World cup. Check in was smooth, and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. We were very pleased with the standard of our rooms.Lovely fresh bedding, and towels, and the carpets clean and well hoovered, definitely value for money.Breakfast was quite nice, nothing outstanding, but adequate.Cereals and prunes were offered along with juices, toast and a full English. My only gripe was being awakened at 7-30 by children laughing and joking and running along the corridor outside our room.I think maybe they were friends or family of the hotel management,as they were making themselves heard in the bar the previous evening.Admittedly they were packed off to bed at 10pm.Not wanting to deny children having fun and enjoying themselves,we maybe did not want our hotel stay affected by noisy children. That aside,we did enjoy our stay in the Afton, and would stay again when visiting Eastbourne.

My wife and I held our wedding reception here on the 5th April and I can honestly say everything was perfect.
All the staff we met were so helpful and friendly during the run up to the wedding and on the day. During the preparation we mainly dealt with Jason and Fiona and nothing seemed like to much trouble for them. Even when we had to postpone the wedding for a few months due to health reasons they were completely understanding. Jason even helped us with the smaller details like the seating plan. The owner, Marco was also very helpful and even came and had a drink with us on the day which we thought was lovely!
With regards to the food, everything was perfect! All of our guests said how nice it was and that they would happily go back. The set menu that we chose had pork as the main however we asked to change it to chicken and this was not a problem, nor was it a problem to change the soup!
All in all, the hotel and staff here are very helpful and accommodating and I would recommend the Afton hotel to anyone. A big thank you to you all!

We stayed at the Afton Hotel after our son and new daughter-in-law's wedding reception which was held in the ballroom. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful from the time we booked in on Saturday. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable, we had an excellent nights sleep.
We believe the hotel should have a higher star rating. A big thank you to all the staff, keep up the good work.

Hotel staff all friendly and whatever you asked for they helped sort out. It was lovely and clean. Good location for visiting the area. Only drawback was the rooms were quite warm as my room led onto a flat roof felt I couldn't have a the window open far.

From our initial arrival to our final departure, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, from Jasons welcoming speech to his departure oracle hoping that everyone had enjojed their stay at the Afton and had thoroughly enjojed their holiday. The bedroom although on the small side and the bathroom were immaculately clean, with the towels changed every two days. The breakfasts and dinners were tasty and we were served promptly and efficiently. The entertainment was excellent, the singer guitarist Eddy Mudderman on the Thursday night was absulutely brilliant. We enjoyed our stay at the Afton as it is opposite the pier and the shops. All of our party of 25 had a wonderful holiday and thoroughly enjojed their stay.

Another enjoyable weekend at the Afton. Jason, Fiona and team did their usual excellent job of looking after us.
If you are looking for a hotel well placed for both seafront and town this one fits the bill well.

We held our wedding reception in the ball room at the Afton Hotel yesterday, and whilst it is all so fresh I wanted to give a truly honest review. From my first visit with my initial enquiry right up to the night itself - the staff, and in particular Jason, could not do enough to assist. No request was too much, and they did everything to help my day go smoothly. We had a lot of guests staying in the hotel, and all said the rooms were comfortable and accommodating, all clean. It is noisy of a night time in the rooms as it is not far from a nightclub and sadly the leaving guests all pass by the hotel - so advice is to take ear plugs so as to have a peaceful nights sleep - but this is not something the hotel can control - and I know several complaints have been submitted regarding the nightclub to the local council and noise levels when customers leave. Anyway, the breakfast was tasty and was served quickly. I could not have asked for a better reception venue, as the staff made this day complete. Jason - you have been amazing from day one and we cannot thank you enough. Would I use this venue again .....without hesitation.

Brendan and myself had a nice, relaxing 4 night break at the Afton hotel last week. As usual we were made to feel welcome by the staff, all of them being polite and friendly from the time we checked in until the time we checked out. Good value for money. The breakfasts and the dinners were tasty and we were served promptly by our waiter Ian. We like staying at the Afton as it is handy for the pier, and the shops. Look forward to another break there soon

This is a really good value traditional British seaside hotel in in the charming report of Eastbourne. The rooms are small but properly equipped, with good TV tea making and clean and properly organised bathroom. The breakfast is good and up to the standard of a higher level hotel. It is a lively party venue but the late night revelry did not impinge on my sleep.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, We were very lucky to have a room with a sea view and a balcony. The food in the restaurant was very good and plenty of it. Our waitress, a lovely young Polish woman, couldn't have tried harder to please us. She is excellent.

Nice clean, friendly hotel in a good location opposite the beach and pier.
I will definitely use again for a weekend away.
It's better to book the rooms on the top floor for less from the street and music in the bar.

The Afton is well placed on the front opposite the pier and not far from the town centre. It is very clean and comfortable, and the staff make you feel at home and are very friendly. The food is very good. An all round good hotel, will visit again. Thanks go to Edwards Coaches for the organisation of this holiday.
