Jane Austen's Emma

A fresh and quirky reimagining of a much-loved classic novel comes to Walpole Park
Jane Austen’s subtle wit is infused with new life in Doon MacKichan and Martin Millar’s adaptation of one of her best loved novels, Emma.    Emma Woodhouse is selfish and spoilt, but with a heart of gold. As she tries and fails to set up love matches between her friends, the ensuing chaos makes Emma question herself, and the nature of love.    This playful adaptation puts Austen herself centre stage as she acts out the tale with her four nieces, who breathe new life into the story.   Bring your picnic rug (or a folding chair) and join us in Walpole Park for a delightful and irreverent take on Emma in a suitably picturesque setting.    With thanks to Pitzhanger Manor and the London Borough of Ealing.
