With festival season officially under way, a care home in South Norwood is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.

On Friday 7th August from 2.30pm-4pm, Care UK’s Acacia will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

Visitors to the Chalfont Road home can look forward to a celebration of the flavours, traditions and shared experiences that make dining so special in the care home. Foods on offer will include delicious seasonal favourites, including jerk chicken, seasonal vegetable curry, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, cakes and other sweet treats. Visitors are also invited to tap their feet to live entertainment from Jamie, a live musician.

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
