Events

Victorian Day

On Saturday 17th December, the Museum shall be holding an all day Victorian event. There will be activities for children throughout the day, Victorian artefacts on display, a barrel organ, mince pies on sale, costumes on display and staff will be dressed up. This event is being held with the Market Hall where traders will be dressed up and wine and beer on offer, and the Cocoa Yard where there will be entertainment.

The Museum’s Art and Craft Group have been working extremely hard to produce Christmas decorations to sell at the Museum. They shall also be decorating the entrance of the Museum next week, which has already been repainted in a Victorian theme.

Holly Holy Day

Every year the town celebrates the re-enactment of the Battle of Nantwich and this year’s event will take place on Saturday 21st January. Led by the Sealed Knot, troops descend on the town to recreate the battle on Mill Island.

The Museum shall be joining in and there will be Civil War themed town tours leaving from the Museum at 10.15am and 12pm. There will also be a musketry demonstration in the Millennium Gallery at 10.30am and a war game upstairs in the Joseph Heler room.

Tours

On Thursday 15th December there will be a Victorian themed tour to tie into our Victorian inspired Christmas event. We shall be meeting at the Museum at 2pm for a leisurely and informative tour of Nantwich and then return to the Museum for refreshments which are included in the £3 cost. Please email or ring the Museum on 01270 627104 to book a place.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas,

Kate and the rest of the Museum staff.
