Refresh your living room for Spring
Colour is back and makes a refreshing change from bland, play safe neutrals.
As the better weather approaches revamp your living room by just wallpapering the chimney breast in a colourful, floral wallpaper or paint over the chimney breast in a bold emulsion if you dont like the idea of wallpaper. Sometimes a painted wall can look a bit flat and this can absorb the natural light in a room, whereas a wallpaper can have a slight shimmer and reflect the light around the room. just by doing the chimney breast gives a quick facelift to a room.
New scatter cushions and a vase of fresh flowers give a quick refreshing look. I particularly like to see a vase of flowers sitting on the mantlepiece in front of a mirror that hangs above the fireplace. If the flowers are placed to the side of the mirror the flowers reflect beautifully in the mirror and the mirror helps to bounce the light around the room.
If you dont have a chimney breast in your room you could make one wall as the feature wall and place a sideboard or table against that wall with a mirror above and a nice lamp and vase of flowers on the piece of furniture.
