Carole Salmon is the company’s Charity Co-ordinator, “We found that a lot of people here were raising money for good causes, and as a company we were being asked more and more to support local projects so my job is to co-ordinate everything and look for projects to get involved in. As well as raising funds, we’re keen to use our business and marketing expertise to help organisations in more practical and long-term ways”, for example, designing the posters and programmes for Shavington High Schools 2011 Christmas concerts.
So far, employees have completed 25 fundraising events including climbing Kilimanjaro, cycling London to Paris and the Race for Life with all 120 staff being involved in some level. Managing Director Nigel Sandiford says, “The idea came from our staff, lots of people were already doing various charity events, and one day one of our employees came into my office and said wouldn’t it be great if we directed some of the energy and drive here to good causes as well. And so we have. It’s amazing what can happen when people put their minds together.”
