ESTC Sponsor Olympic Hopeful

ESTC of Nantwich are proud to announce they are backing Olympic hopeful Helen Pryer in her goal to reach the 2012 Olympics.

After a breakthrough season of record-breaking 200m performances, Helen caught the attention of Olympic champion Linford Christie who has tipped her for big things next year.

ESTC's Managing Director Eileen Williams said “Helen is a fabulous athlete who has been dealt a raw deal in life.  She has progressed rapidly through the sprinting ranks and when we met her, she was struggling to cover the considerable costs of training and travel associated with competing up and down the country.”

“We believe she can do great things at the games which is why we are giving her all the support we can.”

As part of the sponsorship, Helen will be visiting local schools to talk about running techniques and the importance of health and fitness. She will also be working with ESTC’s Employment Services division which employs and trains apprentices.

Helen, from Camberley in Surrey, said: “At 31, this could be my last chance to compete in the Olympics  and it is such a good feeling to have the support. My times are improving and through the winter months I can continue my training abroad, something I could not have done without ESTC’s support.”
