Calling all children and young people across Staffordshire and Cheshire

As part of the build up to the 2012 London Olympic Games we aim to inspire and raise the aspirations of children and young people by inviting them to create a design to be applied onto a Limited Edition Ceramic Tile that will be used to create Staffordshire and Cheshire's Olympic Wonderwalls.

Brief:

The challenge is to create a winning design for the tile/s, Tile size 30 x 20 cm. The winning designs will be hand painted using the ‘flow glazed’ technique onto the tiles by world famous skilled artists from Anita Harris Art Pottery. The finished tiles will then be used to create a ‘temporary wonderwall’ of completed designs and tiles; this will be constructed and exhibited in Stoke on Trent and Cheshire to coincide with the 2012 Olympic Games. Following this a permanent piece of public art will be created using the winning tiles. Designs can be created using computer graphics, digital photography, line drawing and painting. There is no restriction on the number of colours however Metallic colours cannot be applied.

Winners will attend an Awards Ceremony and be presented with their Limited Edition Design/Tile valued at £350 Plus a winners medal and Art equipment.
