On 1 September, the fundraisers of St Catherine’s Hospice are holding a Dragon Boat Festival at Tilgate Park, Crawley. Teams of between 13 and 20 people are invited to enter this amazing challenge in the name of charity. Absolutely no experience or equipment are necessary – dragon boats will be provided and all you need bring is your team and bags of madcap enthusiasm.

If you love the idea but don’t quite feel up to dragon boat racing, come along anyway! This is a great family festival and you can cheer the boats on as well as enjoy the games, stalls, magic, hula hooping (!) and much more besides.

St Catherine’s Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers. It has offered palliative care to people in the Crawley area since 1983, for free and without discrimination. The Hospice has been a lifeline to families, helping patients make the most of the time they have remaining and making a wide variety of services available to patients and those close to them.

Last year, the Dragon Boat Race raised over £45,000 for the Hospice, making a real difference to the lives of those who depend on it. To take part in this incredible event, simply visit the St Catherine’s Hospice website and fill in the form!
