On Thursday 6th August from 12-3pm, Care UK’s Tall Trees, on Mile Oaks Place, will open its doors to the community for a food festival that will shine a light on sustainability, highlighting how thoughtful food choices can help support communities in being more environmentally aware.
Visitors can look forward to a celebration of wholesome food. The event will welcome the local community into the home to enjoy delicious BBQ favourites, create their own herb plant pot to take away and discover how thoughtful food choices can support a more environmentally conscious way of living.
The events are part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
