With festival season officially under way, a care home in Clacton-on-Sea is welcoming the local community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.
On Saturday 8th August from 11am–4pm, Care UK’s Haven Lodge will open its doors to families and neighbours for a free food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Visitors to the Reckitts Close home can look forward to a summer fete featuring a vibrant celebration of flavours and cultures.
Served up will be delicious dishes from around the world as well as family-friendly entertainment.
Alongside the festivities, the home will shine a light on sustainable food practices, exploring how thoughtful choices can support a more environmentally conscious community.
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused activities while championing the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
