Offering a wide range of specialist, holistic and palliative care services to individuals with life-limiting illnesses in Colchester and many parts of Essex, St Helena Hospice is one of the most dedicated charities and charitable organisations in the region.

Your time... your hospice...

St Helena Hospice provides specialist and holistic care via its Inpatient Unit based in Colchester, and two Day Centres in Colchester and Clacton. The charity also has a Hospice Nurse Specialist team and Hospice at Home service, which enables people to have access to services in the comfort of their own home.

All services are free of charge to patients and their families, and include:

  • Massage
  • Chiropody
  • Fatigue management
  • Pain and symptom control
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Emotional and spiritual support

  • End of life support

These services are available at any stage of illness and are delivered by St Helena Hospice’s highly qualified teams of specialists, which include doctors, nurses, complementary, physio and occupational therapists, counsellors, social workers and a chaplaincy team.

Can you help?

It costs £5.8 million in order to provide these essential services to more than 380,000 people in the region, with only a small amount coming via the Primary Care Trust. Therefore, St Helena Hospice relies on the support of the local community, not only for this work to continue, but to further expand services and help even more families in the future.

Funding comes from a range of sources:

  • Financial donations from individuals and organisations
  • Legacies
  • Eight St Helena Hospice retail shops
  • Fundraising events
  • Your Hospice Lottery
  • Amazon and eBay
  • Support from grant making bodies

St Helena Hospice is also always grateful if a family would like to share their experiences with others and help raise awareness for the charity.

If you think you could help, please contact the fundraising team on 01206 791 740.
