Gloucestershire County Council Wants To Help Residents Get A Better Energy Deal
23rd January 2013

Gloucestershire County Council has launched the ‘Collective Energy Switch’.  We all know it can work out cheaper to buy in bulk, and this initiative is designed to help people work together to get cheaper gas and electricity.  Consumers are more likely to achieve significant savings if a large number of people want to change energy supplier at the same time.

Residents must register their interest with the council  by 23:59 on Monday 28th January online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/fairenergy or until Friday 25th January, between 8.30am and 5pm,  you can call the council on 01452 425757.  Alternatively you can attend one of the sign-up events in libraries  on Wednesday 23rd in Cirencester 9.30am-1pm or in Tetbury 2.30-5pm.

The only information required at this stage is: contact details, an indication of energy consumption (this can be found on your last energy bill) and whether you wish to consider switching for both gas and electricity, or for just electricity.

Anyone who registers interest in the scheme, will receive a personalised energy offer in February.  There is no guarantee of this will be lower than your current bills, but it is likely.  There is no obligation to sign up to the scheme once you have received your offer.
