With the Easter week-end fast approaching here is a guide to a few things for you all to enjoy in Chesterfield this Easter break.

Easter Celebrations @ Chatsworth House – Saturday 31st March - Sunday 15th April
Join in the fun throughout the Easter holidays at Chatsworth in the house, garden and farmyard. Most activities are included with entry fee.  Look out for the Easter Bunny and enjoy Easter Trails through the House and Garden.  Try out the new climbing forest play equipment in the adventure playground and enjoy spring themed crafts.  Whilst in the farmyard enjoy Easter Egg hunts on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Ancient Greeks Exhibition at Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery – Saturday 31st March – Saturday 12th May
A hands on FREE, exhibition about life in Ancient Greece. Learn about Greek soldiers called 'Hoplites', explore the Parthenon and discover the ideas, such as democracy, that are the legacy of the ancient Greeks.  For more information on this event please click here

Easter Family Fun Trail @ Bolsover Castle
Can you crack our clues to complete this 'egg-citing' trail? Find the missing eggs around the grounds to be rewarded with a yummy Easter prize.  For more information on this event please click here.

Junk Music! @ Tapton Lock Visitor Centre – Wednesday 4th April
Join us and become a recycling musician for the afternoon. We will be helping you to make instruments out of everyday items that would normally be thrown away. From 2pm until 4pm but feel free to turn up and join in anytime. Please dress warmly as you will be outside in the garden.  £2 per person - Booking is essential.

Good Friday at Brampton Manor – Friday 6th April
Bar food served Noon until 8:30pm and Live Entertainment and Charity Slave Auction from 8:30pm

Chesterfields Crooked Spire Open Day – Saturday 7th April & Monday 9th April
Take a guided tour of Tower, climb the 144 steps and enjoy the views over Town and close up views of the famous crooked spire. From 10am-4pm,  Adults £3.50 and children under 16 £1.50

Brampton Food Market @ St Thomas' Church – Saturday 7th April
Pop along to Brampton Food Market and pick up some great local food whilst supporting local businesses.  10:00-14:00

Easter Sunday Carvery @ Brampton Manor – Sunday 8th April
Don’t slave away in the kitchen this Easter treat the family to Easter Sunday Carvery,  2 courses £11.95 or 3 courses £14.95. Please book to avoid disappointment.

Dronfield Car Boot & Family Extravaganza – Sunday 8th & Sunday 15th April
Car Boot Sunday Market on 6 acres of concrete hard standing, lot of entertainments for the kids and great bargains for the adults. Easter Extravaganza at Renishaw Hall and Gardens – Sunday 8th & Monday 9th April
Come and join us for a weekend of fun and Easter Activities!   We will help keep the children entertained for hours with the fun Easter Egg Hunt, free face painting and a balloon artist, among other family entertainment. Meet a Greek Soldier at Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery – Thursday 12th April
Discover what life was like as a Hoplite in Ancient Greek. These soldiers were free citizens of Greece but had some military training. They were named after the Hoplon shield that they all carried. For more information please click here.

Fab Four at Barrow Hill Roundhouse Railway Centre – Friday 13th, Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th April
Go along and see the 'Fab Four', an unprecedented line up of world famous steam locomotives, which are being brought together for the first time in 60 years at the UK's only surviving operational Roundhouse!  In addition enjoy the train rides, numerous stands and food. The Duke of Newcastle Returns to Bolsover Castle – Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th April
Step back in time to the 17th century at Bolsover Castle, home of the Duke of Newcastle. Watch as his Cavaliers show their skill on horseback and the art of manège - the forerunner of modern dressage. Visitors will get the opportunity to hear a variety of talks on 17th century equestrianism from leading academics on the period as well as witness a range of spectacular displays.  For more information please click here.
