The Spireites Hit Rock Bottom

No happy return for the management team, although they did get a warm welcome from the Oldham fans. Sheridan, Wright, Crossley made their first visit back to their old team. Another story of bad defending, conceding 5 goals, which mean they are now bottom of league. Football can be a cruel game, over six months ago the Spireites were on a high after being crowned Champions of league 2.

Although they did score two goals away from home which would have been good if they hadn't conceded 5. It could have been worse for the Spireites if an eagle eyed reporter had not noticed before kick off that the squad had 6 loan players in it, when you are only allowed 5, luckily they changed the team in time, to avoid a big fine.

3 nil after 17 minutes meant it was going to be a huge ask to comeback, although westcarr made it 3-1 before 2 more were added and then a late consolation by Clarke. The team are scoring goals, unlike at the start of the season when they struggled to score. Bowery was left out of the starting line up even though he had scored 5 in the last 3 games, it had to be a tactical switch.

Allott had another poor game, I feel its time to give Craig Clay his chance, to prove that he can play at this level. At the moment there is no protection for the defence, a defensive central midfielder must be on the Christmas wish list. At the moment the defence are under too much pressure.

Next at home Sheffield United, another big match, if the Spireites can get something from this game, it could be the confidence boost they need. After that the Spireites travel to Wycombe and then entertain Walsall both big six pointers.
