The Spireites fail to beat a poor Leyton Orient side, in a match the Spireites dominated. They created plenty of chances, somehow Orient managed to scramble the ball to safety on a number of occasions. With Mendy making his debut for the Spireites, they looked dangerous going forward. Mendy has plenty of skill and loves running at the defence, he put in a fine display.
The Spireites kept their first clean sheet of the season. Grounds making his home debut looks a class act, hopefully the spireites can extend his loan, as he is only here for a month. Johnson partnering Allott in midfield put in a solid performance, he likes to have the ball, and as real quality.
Chesterfield kept up the pressure, a ball from Boden to Lester in the penalty area, looked dangerous. Jack was man handled by the defender then knocked to the ground by their keeper, looked like a definite penalty. What did jack get for his troubles a broken arm, he had to be stretchered off.
It now looks like Jack lester the Spireites only experienced striker could be out for a long time, possibly 4 months. The striker as fractured his left arm in three places, and a metal plate as been inserted into his arm. This now means Sheridan will have to bring in 2 strikers in on loan, because the transfer window is now closed it means that you can only loan players for a maximum of 93 days.
The display by the Spireites was a big improvement, the new editions have strenghened the side. Westcarr as yet to make an impact, and i feel he would be better suited in his natural position as a right Winger, and not upfront. I would try Mendy upfront with Boden with Morgan on the left wing and Westcarr on the right. Bournemouth struggle to defend corners, So by playing Mendy upfront he could use his height to exploit Bournemouth's weakness, with Westcarr and Morgan getting some dangerous balls into the box.
Nathan Smith was a man of the match, putting in a great defensive and attacking display, its not easy for him because he often finds himself isolated with no outlet for him. This will be an important Month for the Spireites with chances to pick up points starting on Saturday at struggling Bournemouth.
I am a blogger for the Derbyshire Times living in Chesterfield. I like to write about the Spireites, whom i follow Home and Away. I will be writing on here, about the season ahead, Match previews, Reports...
