I was looking forward to my first visit too The Crown Ground,  me and my boys got there about 1:30pm, my boys were not impressed with the look of the Stadium, so I took them to the Crown Pub until kick off.  We had managed to get seats in the Stand, it's  the first time I have sat in a stand and been sat at the front, back and the middle all at the same time, because we were sat on the third row of three, no leg room so a lot of fans decided  to stand behind us.

Although you have to admire the home fans who turn up to support their team, they never stopped singing throughout the game. The club have established themselves as a League Two club, which is  a big achievement for a club of their size.

Cook made 4 changes, in came Jack Lester having served his 3 match ban, he was partnering Richards who has back injury, in an attacking 4-4-2 formation. Boa Morte and Randall came into midfield.

The Spireites found the conditions difficult at first, playing against the wind.  Tommy Lee failed to reach the halfway line with his first two kicks.  Liam Cooper managed to head over a dangerous header from Beattie. Molyneux hit one just over the bar, Darikwa found Lester who turned and shot, but failed to hit the target. Lester was then guilty of giving away possession in midfield, luckily Lindfield hit a poor shot wide of the target.

Richards came closest to scoring when his effort hit the woodwork. Moments later Randall tried an audacious lob over the keeper which hit the top of the crossbar. It would have been a contender for goal of the season. Boa Morte put in lovely cross for Lester, who headed it just wide.

Darikwa managed to race clear on the right wing, he found Lester who again failed to convert.

H.T. 0-0.

The Spireites  came out even more determined to find the first goal, Darikwa hit one just wide, and Boa Morte had his effort blocked. Lester came close to scoring but was denied by Belford. The keeper then managed to clear a dangerous looking ball from Darikwa.  Randall hit a free kick over the bar.

The Spireites were then punished for not taking their chances, Boca in space on the left hit his shot past Lee to put Stanley in front. Whitaker came on for Boa Morte and O'Shea replaced Lester.

Richards hit a  lovely powerful free-kick, but Belford produced a brilliant save. Darikwa was also denied by the brilliant Belford.

Belford was finally beaten from close range, Hird headed it past the keeper, only for it to be ruled offside by the linesman.

F.T. 1-0

You couldn't have asked more from the players on another day they could have had 5, they were denied by a Man of the Match Performance by Belford, twice by the woodwork and once by the Linesman.  The stand out player for the Spireites was Darikwa a constant threat throughout the game, he just pipped Boa Morte who had his best game so far for the Spireites.

Next up a trip to Wycombe who have found some good form recently. Cook will be looking to extend the loans of some of his players and also bring some new ones in now that the transfer window is open. He has just put Boden, Waddle and Forbes on the transfer list. I would like to wish them good luck in the future and hope they all find clubs soon.

I'm a big fan of the Spireites and follow them up and down the Country. I got into writing blogs when I was picked to do a blog for the Derbyshire Times for a year, which I really enjoyed. All the views...
