To mark the fifth anniversary of the military charity, Help for Heroes on 1st October 2012 a new recording star, Laura from Chesterfield, is releasing an exciting new CD single, titled “Soldier’s Wife” and donating ALL of the profits from the CD going to Help For Heroes.

The track, written by rock legend John Parr ( St Elmo’s Fire) and arranged and produced by Ian Lynn (Sheena Easton, Barbara Dickson, Gerry Rafferty) it is a truly fitting tribute to our military heroes. The poignant song takes you on the journey of a wife who is left behind as her soulmate goes to war, and who later
copes with the tragic consequences.

Laura said, “ The very first time I heard the song with its beautiful words I immediately felt a connection with the wives who have lost their husbands tragically in war. This song gives me the chance to do something to help.”

Laura's voice lends a haunting quality to the song “Soldier’s Wife”. Laura first performed the song for Help for Heroes at a charity lunch at the Dorchester in May 2012 to a standing ovation. As it was so well received, she decided to release it as a single to help raise money for injured servicemen and their families through Help for Heroes.

The track “ Soldier’s Wife” is available now through various retail outlets, as well as from Amazon, Itunes and Laura’s
website.

Laura will also be performing at the Brampton Manor Open Evening on Thursday 8th November, further details about this evening can be found here!
