Sign up to the Derbyshire Eco Challenge and you will receive an email containing ten eco tips each month for 6 months. Each month’s tips will have a different theme and you’ll be able to choose which tips you try. You can even suggest your own top tips for people right across Derbyshire to try.

It is common knowledge that people find it easier to make changes when they're part of something bigger and are aware that other people are making changes too.  You'll have the satisfaction knowing that you're taking part with people right across Derbyshire and you will receive feedback on what other people are doing.

Save money, protect the environment and live a greener life, just sign up for email tips and you could see and make a real difference.  Some of the tips may be new to you; others may be ones that you've been meaning to do for a while. A lot of people find the emails give them motivation for getting things done.

Each month will have a different theme and we'd like you to tell us which actions you're already doing and which new ones you'd like to try.  Themes include:

  • Water
  • Energy
  • Food
  • Rubbish
  • & Recycling.

Anyone signing up before the end of October will be entered a prize draw to win an energy monitor, worth £100, designed to help you cut your bills. The EDF Eco Manager monitors the electricity used by your whole house − plus the use at three designated plug sockets.

The challenge will be running between now and April 2012 but you can join at any time.  Entry is completely free and you can opt out of the challenge at any time.

All information (including previous challenge topics) can be found on the Derbyshire Eco Challenge (opens in a new window) website.

Go on make a difference!  To sign up or for more information contact derbyshire@globalactionplan.org.uk.

Derbyshire Eco Challenge is run by Global Action Plan and Derbyshire County Council.
