It is Time to Celebrate and Create Chesterfields' 2012

To celebrate our 2012 in Chesterfield, the Chesterfield Action for Arts Forum (CAAF) are inviting the people of Chesterfield to respond to our 2012 local, national and personal events through creativity, for the Chesterfield Time Capsule Project.

I think everyone has been suitably inspired by this Jubilee and Olympic year (even if the weather, so far, has left much to be desired!!) It has been great for bringing communities together!

Simply take a photo and email it to CAAF (chesterfieldtimecapsule@gmail.com) or upload it to their Flickr Group or Facebook Page, to be included in the time capsule that will be in the centre of the Jubilee Diamond Sculpture, which will be placed in Queens Park, Chesterfield.

Examples of other creative responses for capturing the year include:

  • Performance,
  • Painting,
  • Poetry,
  • Pottery,
  • Collage,
  • Video and sound recordings.

Why not reflect on your events so far in 2012 which could include:

  • Your local Jubilee street party,
  • A local art exhibition,
  • The Olympic Torch Relay,
  • A show you have seen and so on.

So go on get creative or share a great snap of the year!  This artwork and your reflections, will produce a digital record of events which affected the Chesterfield community in 2012.

Be a part of our history!!
