On Wednesday 4th July 2012 across the country, people will be encouraged to buy at least one item from their local, independent shop to keep the help keep our high streets alive.
Watching “Jimmy and the Giant Supermarket” recently I was shocked yet again to hear that still, £1 of every £7 spent within the UK is spent at Tescos!!!! We ALL need to get out there and support our local independent retailers and Buy Local!
Skillsmart Retail and it’s supporters have teamed up with independent retailers and trade associations around the country to encourage the public to celebrate diversity on the high street and support their local, independent retailers on 4th July.
Independents’ Day is helping to fly the flag for local retailers and is all encouraging the public to use their local high street and understand how important a diverse retail sector is. [SOURCE: Skillsmart Retail]
So the message is loud and clear, on Wednesday 4th July buy at least one item from an independent retailer and celebrate our wonderful independents in Chesterfield. Please remember though, that supporting local businesses is for life not just for Independents Day!! Buy Local everyday, Chesterfields’ amazing businesses need YOU!
