The Chargers fell to their second defeat to last season’s champions Hope Valley in Castleton on Saturday.  A team containing a number of new faces struggled to gel in the first half but were much improved in the second. Try scorers were Kev Wroe and Alex Hughes.

Captain Neil Storey said “The squad is growing all the time but we’ve got a lot of work to do and I would urge all players to keep coming to training. The team spirit is good and we will definitely improve.”

The under 15s took a week off before their big game against rivals York Acorn, which has been brought forward to Saturday 16th, kick off 10.30 at Barlborough Country Park. 8 Chargers players played for Sheffield Eagles U15s on Saturday as they beat London Broncos 24-22 at Mount St Marys. Captain Ben Doxey was a standout at prop, and Macauley Watkinson and Duell Trueman chipped in with tries.

The U13s, U11s and U9s took part in a festival at Nottingham as they continue to develop their rugby league skills
