Lots of FREE Summer Fun Activities are planned to keep the children entertained at Holmebrook Valley Country Park. Unless otherwise stated all children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult and all unaccompanied children must be dropped off and collected by an adult. Suitable clothing must be worn for each activity.
Fun Hours!! - Tuesday 26th July & Thursday 25th August – 13:00 until 15:00
Enjoy an afternoon of fun with a variety of silly games and fun activities! This event is suitable for all ages and no booking is required.
Kite Making – Thursday 28th July - 13:00 until 15:00
Try your hand at making and then flying a kite with the Park Rangers. All necessary materials will be provided. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 20 participants, suitable for ages 4 -13.
Bug Hunt! - Tuesday 2nd August & Tuesday 30th August - 13:00 until 15:00
Help the Rangers investigate the many habitats of Holmebrook Valley Park and discover which creepy crawlies call them home. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 20 participants, suitable for ages 4 -13.
Den Building – Thursday 4th August – 13:00 until 15:00
Become the next Ray Mears by designing and build a den with the help of the Park Ranger team. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 20 participants, suitable for ages 6 -13.
Wildlife Treasure Hunt - Tuesday 9th August – 13:00 until 15:00
Explore the wildlife of Holmebrook Valley Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the hidden clues round the park to complete the picture puzzle. This is a family event and all participants must be accompanied by an adult. Your dog is also welcome to this event. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 30 participants, suitable for ages 3 -8.
Oversized Welly Relay - Thursday 11th August – 13:00 until 15:00
Work in teams to master the obstacle course in our oversized wellies. Have as many goes as you like to improve your time and claim the oversized welly crown! This event is suitable for all ages and no booking is required.
Catapult Building - Tuesday 16th August - 13:00 until 15:00
Use your new skills to design then construct a catapult that can fire your team to victory! Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 20 participants, suitable for ages 8 -14.
Treasure Hunt – Thursday 18th August – 13:00 until 15:00
Follow the park treasure map and solve the clues to find the hidden treasure. Your dog is also welcome to this event. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 30 participants, suitable for ages 8 -13.
Welly Wanging - Tuesday 23rd August – 13:00 until 15:00
See how far you can 'wang' the welly! Compete against your friends or play for fun to try and improve your throw (other games also available). This event is suitable for all ages and no booking is required.
Photo Ralley / Orienteering – Thursday 1st September – 13:00 until 15:00
Discover the sights of Holmebrook Valley Park through the lens of a camera whilst beating the competition. Hunt down and photograph as many park features on the 'wish list' as is possible within the allocated time. Please bring your own Digital Camara/Mobile Camara as none will be provided. Your dog is welcome to this event. Pre booking by phone is essential, as maximum of 30 participants, suitable for ages 8 -14.
