A fantastic initiative is being run by Chesterfield cops by offering free football all summer long for any footy mad youngsters.

Kids in Chesterfield are invited to hone their football and dribbling skills for free, at daily football sessions throughout the summer holidays.

Youngsters aged between ten and 16-years old can attend and should wear appropriate clothing and bring refreshments.

The five-a-side sessions will be held Monday to Friday between 1pm and 3pm.
Queens Park astro-turf pitches, beginning Monday, July 25.

Qualified coaches will be running the sessions alongside officers from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

PCSO Paul Smith, of the Chesterfield Town Centre SNT, said: “The sessions will offer youngsters something to do during their holiday which is free of charge and they can come as often as they like.   We hope the youngsters will make new friends and have some fun at the sessions.”

The free sessions have been organised by local police alongside Sporting Futures, Chesterfield Football Club and Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership.
